Try to open the file again
browse then and type kedit
go try it
1 you must have installed other KDE parts.
2 you can manually type command in Open With:
  <your command>

It depends on menus KDE and GNOME/menus.
You can edit menus from Kpanel/panel.

How do I add applications to the KFM box?

When Im browsing in some files and I want to read a
file I click on it and it askes me what I want to open
it with, I click the browse button but all the pull
down menus are empty. I would like to add Kedit or
some other application to use to read these files. any
suggestions or tricks or something to make my life
easier in KDE?

Thanks
David M.
