I saw a tip on KDE2 (before I abandoned it) that said that
there was no GPL code in KDE2 which was copyrighted by the
Free Software Foundation. I don't know why this is important
enough to state publicly, and don't much care. License flame
wars aren't my thing.

However, does this describe a policy by the KDE team? If it
does, does that mean that KDE programmers are not allowed to
take GPLd code which is copyrighted by the FSF and reuse it?
I was pondering things like the GNOME code, any alterations
made to Staroffice by FSF programmers (and copyrighted by
them), various useful bits of Gimp, gzip, etc.

In short, I was wondering if I took a GNU tool, say
something from GNOME, and rewrote parts of it (like the
interface) so it worked under KDE, would that not be allowed
into the KDE project?
