I have been able to install a few RPMs via X but frankly it's still
hard.  Much simpler to do it from the command line like this.
( Make sure you log in as root to that console ).

  mount /mnt/cdrom
  cd /mnt/cdrom/RedHat/RPMS
  rpm -ivh kde*

if your directories are different then edit the lines accordingly.
If it talks about failed dependencies just add whatever it asks for
like this.

  rpm -ivh kde* qt-*

The above assumes QT is also missing.  If other stuff is absent then 
add them to that command line.
