It may sound funny to you, but did you try to contact Sun? Maybe they are
able to help. Also, there should be an option about "wm-hints" (Window
Manager Hints). you should be able to enable/disable them by command line
argument.

As an update to my previous posting I have tried ie5 using twm, olwm and
dtwm all of
them work, pretty strange. I don't have any other window managers so if
anyone is interested
could they try them on say fwm or other window managers.
