I tried it once with an old demo version that came with my soundcard. That
did run under wine. I even managed it to work together with my linux
software synthesizer aRts over loopback midi. Funny ;)

However, I recommend using linux native software. There is Brahms (which
I like because it works with aRts) and Muse for Qt, and Jazz may also be
an alternative.
