Unfortunately, if kdvi is based on xdvi, it must be an old version of xdvi.
As far as I can see, it does not have the hypertext/link facilities
which have been present in xdvi for several versions now.
(If it does, they don't work on my version of kdvi;
but then neither do several other things
which other people claim to be working.)

This must be a danger of simply taking another program,
and adding KDE code to it --
though I don't know if that is what happened in this case --
there must be considerable danger 
that the KDE program will not be kept up to date.
