     Have you got another Motif apps?  Are they showing the same problem?
Make sure that you're not having black characters displayed on black
background (or white characters displaying on white background) ;-)  Type
something and see if you could select something with your mouse.

     Try also some simple WM like Afterstep or WindowsMaker.  KDE changes
Motif resources and this might be the cause.
