Since you are connecting it doesn't sound like an ISP problem. Since netscape is giving you the famous SOCKS message, test your routing. I suspect that the ppp connection is not setting a default route (or the wrong default route) for some reason. As a last resort, try this after you have connected. # route del default # route add default dev ppp0 or ppp1 or even ppp2 check it with: # route and then # ping netscape.com If that works, try connecting to your mail again. On the other hand, since you can send email, this whole message might be pointless. :) Regards Ian > > > ____________________________________________________________________ > Get your own FREE, personal Netscape WebMail account today at http://webmail.netscape.com. > -- > Send posts to: kde@lists.netcentral.net > Send all commands to: kde-request@lists.netcentral.net > Put your command in the SUBJECT of the message: > "subscribe", "unsubscribe", "set digest on", or "set digest off" > PLEASE READ THE ARCHIVED MESSAGES AT http://lists.kde.org/ BEFORE POSTING > ********************************************************************** > This list is from your pals at NetCentral > -- Send posts to: kde@lists.netcentral.net Send all commands to: kde-request@lists.netcentral.net Put your command in the SUBJECT of the message: "subscribe", "unsubscribe", "set digest on", or "set digest off" PLEASE READ THE ARCHIVED MESSAGES AT http://lists.kde.org/ BEFORE POSTING ********************************************************************** This list is from your pals at NetCentral
