You set color depth in /var/X11/xdm/Xservers

In this file you should have a line like this:

:0 secure /usr/bin/X11/X -bs -nobitscale -c -pseudomap 4sight -solidroot
sgilightblue -cursorFG red -cursorBG white 

Change it to:

:0 secure /usr/bin/X11/X -bs -c -nobitscale -solidroot sgilightblue
-class TrueColor -depth 24 -cursorFG red -cursorBG white

Then reboot.
