Subject:    Compilation report of the KDE 1_1 branch on Solaris

I compiled KDE (cvs19990821 KDE_1_1_BRANCH) on Solaris 2.6 using gcc-2.95.1 
and GNU binutils. A few comments before releasing:

1. configure was very complicated:
  CFLAGS="-O -DNeedVarargsPrototypes" CXXFLAGS="-O -fpermissive" LDFLAGS="-s" 
./configure  --prefix=/usr/local/kde-1.1.2-cvs19990821g --enable-shared 
--with-quota --with-qt-dir=/usr/local/qt-1.44-2 --with-extra-libs=/usr/openwin/
lib --with-pam

2. kdebase/kdm/resource.c compiled only without -DNeedVarargsPrototypes

3. kdenonbeta/kcrontab kdenonbeta/kdesu kdenonbeta/kexpress kdenonbeta/kmail2 
kdenonbeta/knetmon kdenonbeta/kticker kdenonbeta/libkmedia knonbeta/maudio2 
did not compile at all

4. Had to remove by hand the new KDE libs section from kdenonbeta/configure

5.configure and prefix: LD_LIBRARY_PATH must not point to old KDE-libraries 
otherwise paths are set very strange!

Hopefully someone fixes some problems before the release date!

Rest seems to work.
