When I was fighting for weeks with installing kde on Digital-Unix (I gave up now and \
am counting my blessings) I had the impression that the options of the first \
configure which are stored in config.status and config.cache overwrite those of the \
actual command-line. So if you rerun you have to delete at least config.cache or use \
the option for another cachefile in order to avoid unintentionally using the old \
options.

Maybe this is the reason !
