Beta 1-4: beta releases
KDE 1.0: first stable release
KDE 1.1: some new features and bug fixes
KDE 1.1.1: just a bugfix for KDE 1.1, really

This would make the next version be KDE 1.2 (unless 1.1.1 needs a bugfix).
KDE 2.0 has a higher major version number because it will contain a _lot_ of
changes (uses Qt 2.0, comes with Koffice by then?, CORBA/Mico, etc, etc).

So I'm sorry, but I don't think there is a unary pattern. There have been
Beta2, -3 and -4 and I don't think there will be a KDE 1.1.1.1. ;-)
