Hi!

After Peter and I were nearly flamed to use kde@kde.org for
look and feel issues and we don't get this discussion of the
general list I'll try it this way.

Here is a list of mailinglists and the topics they are for.
Currently there are a lot of mails on threads that have already
been moved to kde-look which concern the kde look and feel.
Any suggestions on the look and feel should be posted from now
on to kde-look. Please look in your To-field, change it to
"kde-look" if it is still "kde".

At the end of this mail is list of the current mailinglists.
Please look first for a specialized mailinglist before using
the general one.

A lot of subscribing members sort their inbox by the mailinglists
they receive mails from and choose to answer differently on the
different mails. A developer might choose to answer mails to
development lists immediately, general lists every 4 hours and
other lists only once a day. If we don't stick to the mailinglist
scheme we won't need different mailinglists for different topics
- and our inboxes would be loaded with mails we never wanted to
receive.

And a last thing about subjects. It is simply inconvenient to
use a subject from a different thread. So a "Mac Menubar" which
contains suggestions to take over some features of DCE doesn't
make sense.

Furthermore think of sending different mails on different
subjects. Otherwise the subject becomes senseless when it
comes to the 20th answer on one special comment that wasn't
mentioned in the subject itself. The question for configurability
of the doubleclick time would have been worth another mail.

Sorry Adolf that it got you for the examples of this mail,
it wasn't meant personally. I've made these mistakes myself
and am now trying to be a good guy ;-)

Thanks,

Markus
