Hi,
I´m not sure if kde or qt is to blaim for this, so I write to this list
in the hope that the responsible people will see it or it will be
forwarded to them.
I was unable to print out of kmail and other k-applications using the
kde/qt printer dialog.
The reason is that my (automatically generated) /etc/printcap contains
printer aliases with spaces in it. This is allowed and lpr/lpd can
handle this when the printername is quoted, as in:
lpr -P'printer name with spaces' print.file
The kde/qt printer system is using this printername containing spaces
but without quoting it, which is confusing lpr/lpd.
Since the other programs in the game (apsfilter and plp) are using
spaced printernames for quite a while, I think kde/qt should be able to
handle this.
I´m using SuSE 6.0 with kde1.1.1 and qt1.42
