Add or change in your $HOME/.kde/share/config/kfmrc this :

[Paths]
Trash=$HOME/.kde/Trash/
Desktop=$HOME/.kde/Desktop/
Templates=$HOME/.kde/Templates/
Autostart=$HOME/.kde/Autostart/

AFAIK it's not documented, I've found it in the sources.
