It seems to me that you are messing up Qt and KDE ???
You don't need a "free and compatible" Qt to "work toward one thing"
(in this case KDE).
And "using Linux for serious business" involves making money with it.
Therefore you may purchase the professional license of Qt and have the
support from the Trolls.

On the one hand to propose a "free and compatible" Qt, on the other hand
you are condemning "doing everything over and over".
But developing a "free and compatible" Qt involves just such work!

Where is the logic in your statements?
