Along those lines, what about embedding a prexisting language?  Two irc
bots are good examples of this eggdrop+tcl and dancer+fpl.
Personally the last time I used eggdrop, tcl seemed to fit in
nicely, plus it already has tk for x stuf..... Although, with some work
I'm sure perl or python might make interesting choices.
