About the checking for KDE paths... problems:

There is a test at line 2654 in the configure-skript:
libtool is called without a mode (fix: --mode=link)
The generated test source (testconf.C) does
not include the definition of true/false.
The generated test source has extra "s around the
%s in the printf-statements.
