Yes, I've created a testuser account, and there it's the same. So we
can exclude problems by broken config files in $HOME.
After investigating a bit more, I've found the problem. The HAL-daemon
wasn't running. It seems that recent DBUS versions don't depend on HAL
anymore. Previously, the dbus runlevel script started HAL, too.
