It made no differences. No, I got that :) This was based on the last few lines, where it gets "Connection refused" on= =20 127.0.0.1 a couple of times. Hmm, can you echo $DISPLAY in startkde right before ksmserver's line? Another thing you could try is to start just xterm and then run startkde=20 inside it, i.e. startx /usr/bin/xterm Should start the X server and just xterm as the only window. You'll need to= =20 move the mouse cursor over the window to allow keyboard input.
