(I use to have the Fedora version of KDE installed, but decided to
compile it on my own since my system at work and my system at home are
running different OS's.  It seems that transferring my desktop settings
were getting confused between the two different versions.)

So in theory, we find the issue above, we'll find this issue, too...?
