An excellent tool for debugging apps is launching them via the command
line. The output is often very verbose, but once you cipher through all of
the unneccessary stuff and look only for errors, you can sometime find what
you're looking for. This may not solve your problem but it will help in the
future. Stick with it though and spend sometime on these lists as well as
google.com they are your friend.

On an aside, did you upgrade anything? Or did the problem just start on it'=
s
own?

Got Gentoo?

It usually takes more than three weeks to prepare a good impromptu speech.
