Open source meets open distribution. Imagine a completely automated
website for building open source Java+RPM.

1. Fill out a form about your group/distribution.

2. Fill out a form about an open source Java project, including a
source URL or a CVS URL.

3. Press a button and, eventually, the system downloads a Java
project from a source archive or from CVS, builds an RPM and makes it
available in a yum-compatible RPM repository.

A website hides the complexity of RPM from a typical Java programmer.
It enforces well established rules for serious RPM distribution.
Start from Java source code. If a project does have an automated
build process, the website provides a standard one.

All tools are free license and open source. And that is what we have
been working toward at http://www.gchii.org/ . Instead of maintaining
it directly, a project specification can be generated by XML Variant
Configuration Language (XVCL). For a more complicated project, a
project specification can be maintained directly.

Thanks,
