I've downloaded one CD distribution of Mandriva 2007.0 & got it running under
VMware.

Its package manager installed the following versions of the packages:
rpm-4.4.6-10.1mdv2007.0
createrepo-0.4.4-1mdv2007.0

I was able to confirm that this setup is definitely broken - produces
incorrect primary.xml - indexes src.rpm as noarch (I was experimenting
with "repository" of two packages - jakarta-commons-lang-2.1-6jpp.noarch.rpm
& jakarta-commons-lang-2.1-6jpp.src.rpm).

Now, does anybody have some idea where to look next? I'll check the versions
from Mandriva 2007.1 but apart from this? There was mentioned some patch
for /usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/rpmUtils/oldUtils.py but the problem is
that createrepo (at least on Mandriva) works without yum installed and
without this file - it is simply not present on filesystem.

	Alexei
