Uhm. It's about case sensitivity, I guess. You should provide salt
encoded in lower case characters (in this case: 522c31324b), just like
you did with the hash (that part after 3rd '$').

No, it's not a bug. It's a feature :] Oh, well, may be quite annoying
indeed... I will fix it later.

Yup, no upper case letters and everything went fine.
