on second server

Hi
The system seems to be working currently...without the db upgrade.
How can I apply this db upgrade patch on the database server since its
running on a different server? Will this wipe out any custom stuff
we've entered? What about doing the db patch by hand, what is the
best method of doing this? thanks.
