** [plugin-bugs:#1917] XML Plugin requires ErrorList > 2.x in Jedit5.5 under JDK 8**

I have JEdit 5.5 running under JDK8 because I have to. Recently I tried to update the \
XML plugin because JEdit offered a newer version. After the update the XML plugin \
stopped working because it requires ErrorList > 2.3, which is not available for JDK \
8. I tried to roll back the XML Plugin update, but it kept insisting that ErrorList \
is too old.

-> Can the XML plugin update be blocked for JEdit 5.5 under JDK8? For ErrorList, this \
                seems possible.
-> How can I rollback the failed update to the XML plugin?
