**JEdit Version:** 5.5.0
**Tool used:** NVDA
**Replication Procedure: **
* Install JEdit 5.5.0
* Install NVDA latest Screen reader software
* Turn on NVDA and Java Accessibility Bridge in Windows -> Ease of Access
* Now Launch NVDA followed by JEditv5.5.0
* Type anything in the text area and select the text using Keyboard. -> NVDA does not \
read the selected text
* Select the text using mouse -> NVDA detects the text area Accessibilit Role as \
"Unknown" and does not read the selected text.
**Note:** The NVDA reads the Menus, Toolbar buttons, Sidebar toggle button, etc.. \
properly but not the text area.
This bug can be reproduced in all the conditions.
