Summary: XInsert script | handling bug

Initial Comment:
XInsert 1.9 seems to have a bug where the | character,
which is supposed to insert the selected text and place
the cursor after that point, seems to loose the
selection whenever a script calls a popup.  It still
places the cursor at the | location, but it "forgets"
about the text which was selected.

-or- (depending on cursor location after highlight)

text to try.

Expected result:
