Subject: [ jEdit-announce ] jEdit 3.0.1 now available
jEdit 3.0.1 is now available from <http://jedit.sourceforge.net>. This
version fixes a number of bugs reported against 3.0final.
+ Enhancements
- 'Favorites' is now an option for the 'default path' option in the
'File System Browser' option pane
- Mode parser is more resistent to errors and no longer throws various
exceptions with malformed mode files
- The JSP mode in jEdit 2.5.1 was better than the 2.6/3.0 one, so it is
included again
+ Neutral
- Default install directory is now /usr/share/jedit/<version> on Unix.
It used to be /usr/share/jedit-<version>
- xmode.dtd moved from modes directory to jedit.jar
+ Bug Fixes
- DocBook abbrevs are now defined in XML and SGML mode, not just XML
mode
- Fixed typo in actions.dtd
- 'Browse Directory' macro would fail if the file system browser was not
open
- .xsl files were being opened in XML, rather than XSL, mode. The only
workaround I could think of was to disable XML mode's firstlineGlob;
no longer will all files that start with "<?xml ... ?>" be opened in
XML mode. Instead, the list of extensions must be specified manually.
- FileVFS.getParentOfPath() no longer calls
FileSystemView.getFileRoots(), which is a performance bottleneck on
Java 1.1 and Windows
- The 'Find' command was recorded incorrectly in macros
- It is no longer possible to resize docking areas so that they cover
the text area or overlap
- Improved 'Run java' macro
- The batch file created on Windows, and the shell script created on
Unix by the installer now make it easier to change the Java heap size
- The 'Style' option pane displayed syntax styles incorrectly on Java 2
- Untitled files always used the default undo queue size (100) instead
of the value specified in the Global Options dialog box
- The 'default edit mode' setting was not respected in all cases
- The feature that cleared the dirty flag when all edits up to a save were
undone had a bug where the flag would sometimes be cleared at the wrong
time. A proper fix for the problem will be added in jEdit 3.1; in the
meantime, the feature has been disabled.
