If it's just a straight router environment (if you've got a T1 I am
assuming they give you more than 1 IP address) then Linux should scale
up to well beyond 2 T3's worth of bandwidth (45mbit). However, if you
run additional services on that machine you'll notice a slowdown when
very CPU-intensive operations are taking place. The figures above only
represent Linux just passing packets back and forth (with some
firewalling perhaps) like a Cisco would.
