How? What are you doing to reproduce that? I saw you filed a bug about
it as well. Could you please update that so the other Gentoo java devs
will know how to reproduce that.

By any chance were you submitting a form via the embedded web browser? I
know a user on AMD64 with any JDK was having a jvm crash issue with
Eclipse. But that was due to a large issue, on more than just Gentoo. A
bug was opened with SUN about it. However the problem also existed with
IBM's jvm, on AMD64. If you are experiencing the same on x86, means it
not platform specific.

Also are you using a binary eclipse package on gentoo or compiled from
source? I believe the problem I mentioned above exists with both. I
believe possibly a Eclipse bug, but might not be?

I'm a Netbean'er so can't really comment on Eclipses problems ;) Might
want to hit up #gentoo-java on freenode.net to interact directly with
devs if need be. Most of them use Eclipse.
