I strongly endorse this opinion. In my opinion, the regexp bugs reported in
this forum by myself and others are serious enough to rule it out for
professional use.

At this time my favorite is regex4j from IBM. I used the GNU regex for
several years but a few months ago I did a comparison of five Java regex
packages and found that regex4j  out performed all the rest. If, due to
licensing reasons, I can't use regex4j then I use ORO.
