Might this not be related to the fact that a basic difference in workstation
software and server is that workstation allows up to 10 simul connections while
server allows up to 256?

FYI I could not get McAfee Netshield  (for servers) to load on a Gateway PC
running NT server (and serving as an NT BDC) a few years back.  Netshield kept
detecting the machine as a workstation?
