First things to read are
docs/INSTALL
docs/UPGRADING
docs/ChangeLog
to get an impression what has changed and how to proceed.

You should get much of that out of above docs, so please work through 
them and come back with specific questions.
And remember: Be sure to have a backup of your (LDAP)data before you begin.
