I have no problems with breaking a syntax for which the code never
worked before (and, to be exact, for which the code has *never* been
implemented)....

And in that specific situation, I mainly plan to expand the actual
syntax as it is described in the doc, the actual syntax would just
become (I hope) a possible usage of the future syntax.
