The physical location of the servers has no relevance to the protocol
failures under discussion. BIND's inability to find monty.de doesn't
involve any lost packets; nor did the fourteen queries that I mentioned.

Will you keep saying that if it turns out that there are arrangements to
instantly reroute the network in case of outages?
