I've noticed that some ipmon's have a VERY tight
loop (where it does its ioctl call to get log data) ...
putting a sleep(1) in there helps out a LOT.
Also, some versions of ipmon have a "-t" option
that kicks in code that does this (at the end of that
loop in ipmon.c)

Is ipmon supposed to be this heavy? (3.2beta2)
With sar -u (sampled every 5 minutes) and ipmon writing to a file or
syslog I consistently get...
%user %sys %idle
32 16 50
Without ipmon running l I get...
%user %sys %idle
2 0 98
Load Average is 1.05 and .05 respectively.
The box is no rocket but it should be using it's little pinky finger
for what I'm doing - an older Sparc 1000 with dual 50MHZ SuperSparc
CPU's.
The system is doing nothing else - should I even care? Does this mean
anything?
