I've tested this under FreeBSD 4.7 (after applying the patch in
/usr/src/sys/contrib/ipfilter/netinet and recompiling the kernel) and I
did not notice any difference: the ftp proxy does not work at all.

This is what my /etc/ipnat.rules looks like; perhaps something is wrong
there? I do recall that the exact same file worked with FreeBSD 4.3
something...

map xl0 0.0.0.0/0 -> 80.126.25.236/32 proxy port 21 ftp/tcp
map xl0 192.168.0.0/16 -> 80.126.25.236/32 portmap tcp/udp auto
map xl0 192.168.0.0/16 -> 80.126.25.236/32
