for example I set it like
192.168.2.1-31 servers
192.168.2.32-96 - fixed IP for specific machines [generally no web
access, or for test kits and stuff]
192.168.2.97-200 - Fixed IP for named machines
192.168.2.201-250 - dhcp address
on the DHCP setup screen I have
green -
start to be 192.168.2.201
End to be 192.168.2.247
base IP for fixed
192.168.2.150 [above 96 but I know those machines]
when a machine comes on the network It appears in the dhcp range - [this
does not get web access]
I think create a fixed IP [and name it]
this then allows web access and keeps my dhcp area clean...
I have a place for guest PC's .. i.e. people from other offices with
notebooks etc...so if I get a ne wone I can give them web access only ..
I use the URL filter for the access stuff but the rest applies on basic
IPcop
