Finally traced down why this one box crashed when booting, when an 
identical (so I thought) box installed and ran fine. It had a Evergreen 
MX Pro pentium upgrade chip in it, which actually was a IDT Winchip. I 
am sure many out there knew that kernal 2.4 and IDT Winchip's dont get 
along but, duh I didnt.
