+        There are a number of files and scripts that allow Administrators to 
+        configure IPCop to suit their own particular environment.

+        This section describes what the files and scripts do, and where to find \

+        It does not cover Addons created by the Community.

+        You will need to have access to a &apos;root&apos; console to be able
+        to edit files with the <command>vi</command> editor.

+        <title>rc.event.local</title>
+        <para>
+            The shell script <filename>/etc/rc.d/rc.event.local</filename> replaces \
the  +            file <filename>/etc/rc.d/rc.local</filename> from earlier versions, \
 +            and extends its functionality. 
+            It&apos;s now called when IPCop boots, is shutdown, the network
+            interfaces (excluding Red) are started or stopped, or when the Red 
+            interface goes up or down.
+            It can contain your own specific commands to be run at these 
+            particular events.
