Hello,

Please help me, I have been struggling with this for a while and see no w=
ay out:

Environment:
  - Compaq ML 370 with SCSI disks
  - Redhat 8.0
  - Kernel 2.4.18-14

Intermezzo kernel Install:
  1) insmod intermezzo: Using /lib/modules/2.4.18-14/kernel/fs/intermezzo=
/intermezzo.o
  2) Followed: http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-7.2-Manual/cu=
stom-guide/custom-kernel.html
       a) Seems to be an error in instructions: instead of "kernel-header=
s", used: glibc-kernheaders
       b) cd /usr/src/linux-2.4
       c) make mrproper
       d) make menuconfig
                   - selected experimental code (Maturity Code Level)
                   - selected File Systems ... Network File Systems ... I=
ntermezzo (as M)
              - selected Block Devices .... LoopBack Device (as M)
        e) make include/linux/compile.h
        f) make modules
        g) make modules_install

Intersync:
   1) cd /usr/src
  2) ln -s linux-2.4.18-14 linux (By default, Intersync make looks for /u=
sr/src/linux directory during build)
  3) Downloaded intersync-0.9.5 source from http://www.inter-mezzo.org
  4) ./configure
   5) make
   6) make install
   7) mkdir -p /exports/server
  8) groupadd -g 102 intermezzo
  9) useradd intermezzo -g intermezzo
  10) mkizofs -r gfs -j /dev/sda6
  11) mkdir -p /exports/server
   12) mount -t intermezzo /dev/sda6 /exports/server ... Segmentation fau=
lt
If I try again, mount hangs in -D state, and I have to reboot

Questions:
  1) What am I doing wrong =3F Missing something =3F
  2) Is it related to SCSI maybe =3F
  3) Is it Redhat 8.0 =3F
  4) Something to do with permissions (why do we need intermezzo as group=
 / user) =3F
  5) Any way to figure out what happens to mount, why it fails =3F

If you have no clue, what do you suggest =3F
  1) Wait for next release (I hope not !) =3F
  2) Try with another PC, another OS, Redhat 7.x =3F

Thank you,

Francois Gagnon
