Hi,

Following discussion on the mailing lists and at the TCon, it looks
like the community will be best served by quickly making a patch
release, 4.2.1, within the next week or two, then continue towards a
solid 4.3.0 release that is targeted for December.

The patch release will have critical patches that are unlikely to
cause any other issues. I will manually test the release branch on
all three platforms before tarball generation.

Current patches on the release branch are:

BUG: Fix GCC_XML and SWIG ExternalProject dependencies.
PERF: Pull expensive GetInput/GetOutput calls out of inner loops
COMP: fixing error when instatiated with image of double
COMP: WrapITK generates non-unique typedefs in FFT submodule
BUG: prevent static initialization fiasco during factory registration
PERF: remove per sample allocation, use per-thread structure

Patches to also apply to the release branch:

0487b54 BUG: Added missing include <algorithm>
20dd9fa COMP: Add "#include <functional>" to classes for VS2012
1520f84 BUG: isblank is missing on Microsoft Visual Studio.
317b176 BUG: Uninitialized variable.
29a12ef COMP: Make sure the VC script gets executed after gccxml installation.
7c96955 COMP: Compile wrapITK for python2.7,64bit on windows
bee71ed BUG: Fix WrapITK GCCXML ExternalProject dependency.
8d57a23 BUG: Fix multi-object MetaIO reading for ASCII MetaVesselTube.
6e87b9a COMP: fixing error when instatiated with image of double
6edc5a0 COMP: propogate compiler selection & flags to FFTW build
63b1a7d COMP: Macro definition of None in X11 breaks enum
e1c2930 COMP: Remove unnecessary const_cast.
682d559 BUG: Remove duplicate file in wrong place
f94aeb6 BUG: Test harness gave false positives

Please reply to this thread with other suggestions for patches to
include by noon Monday.

Thanks,
Matt
