You can read the DICOM with ITK. See in Example/IO directory.

Yes, I have tried itkImageToVTKImageFilter and it works. My problem is I
have some dicom images and I can get the volume for some and not the others.
I'm not an expert on dicom but I 'm trying to understand how the data were
read and sent from the peplines.
