That guy must be a MSCE.....

I've been running win2k servers and clients (professional) behind dialup
NAT and now Bellsuck DSL connections with no problems. I really don't
understand these people.

 * Hello.
 *
 * >From my experience at home using Win2K, my PacBell DSL (PPPOE) and the RRAS
 * you do not have to use the internal DNS server in Win2k.
 *
 * If you implement Active Directory then you need an Internal DNS which should
 * be Active Directory integrated.
 *
 * However, if you do not run one and use the NAT in the RRAS then you need to
 * set the client's to use and External DNS.
 *
 * Also, the easiest method for the RRAS (again I learned this by doing it at
 * home :) is to have it assign your DHCP services and not use the DHCP
 * service. There's an option for the NAT to provide the addresses.
 *
 * What I did was use the DHCP manager to setup the RRAS DHCP options and
 * disabled the DHCP service.

 *
 * I just had a conversation with a local computer consultant for
 * a small public library. We are going to provide them DSL service
 * using Efficient Network 5260 router. We are going to be running
 * NAT. This "expert" claimed that both Novell and Windows 2000 will
 * not work behind a NAT because the Win2000 server "has to" run it
 * own interal DNS that won't work behind a NAT. To me that whole thing
 * sounds fishy, but I wondered if anyone else has run into problems
 * in this configuration..
