I use rsync to do backups of our linux machines over the network to
another building. Backing up everything to disk, since big IDE drives are
cheap and I can put upto 8 of them in a PC now (with a motherboard with
ATA/100 built in, 2 seperate pairs of controllers). Its easier and quicker
to retreive data from a disk than a tape, and tapes are more work
organizing, changing, and keeping track of. (unless you have one of those
really cool and expensive tape robot machines)
