MySQL replication...   It works great.   We use MySQL replication over
SSH tunnels to real-time replicate the SQL data to read-only mirrors for
each server.   (in fact, the primary database server is not even used
for queries other than our admin interface).

The main reason we don't use it is the problems we found with getting 
multiple nameservers on different parts of the 'net to run from the 
same database (MyDNS, at least when we looked at it, didn't have the 
concept of a slave nameserver).  Have you solved that issue?
