Just to clarify,  I don't think I made either of the above two points.  I'd 
agree it would be difficult, if for no other reason because of the complexity 
and size of the extended MAPI spec.  Whether there are truly difficult 
technical issues in doing the mapping and whether functionality would actually 
be lost is a separate question.  As I mentioned, the extended MAPI spec is 
very fully featured, with hierarchical folders, searching, sorting, filtering, 
expanding and collapsing hierarchical views, etc.  So there's no inherent 
reason to believe IMAP functionality would have to be lost in providing a MAPI 
layer.  But I don't know enough to tell right now.
