Basically I'm looking for something like (in Perl):

$text_len = FontWidth('some text', 'font.ttf', 14);

where font.ttf is the font file and 14 is the pointsize.

I guess I'll have to find some way to use libttf from Perl; I was
wondering if ImageMagick had anything like that.  I guess not.
